I'm not sure which products are suitable for my child — can you help?
We believe that all children are unique and learn at their own pace, which is why we organise our resources by stage rather than age. All our resources are thoughtfully designed using the EYFS Framework and National Curriculum objectives.
Stage 1 is based around pre-school, and children who are first beginning their learning journey.
Stage 2 is based on reception, following the Development Matters guidance and Early Learning Goals.
Stage 3 (coming soon) is based on the National Curriculum objectives for Year 1.
Pick & Mix Mats support early writing by introducing pen control, letter formation and name writing. They are suitable from Stage 1.

Do you take custom orders?
All of our personalised books are made to order, so please get in touch with any specific requirements and we'll see how we can help.
Are your products available for wholesale purchase?
Yes! Please contact us directly with your requirements.
What is your dispatch time?
All non-personalised items are posted within 3 working days of purchase. As personalised items are made to order, they are dispatched 1–3 weeks from purchase, using Royal Mail Tracked 48. If you would like a more precise timeframe, please email us: hello@hareandtortoiselearning.com.
What is your returns policy?
You may return non-personalised products up to 30 days after purchase. To be eligible, items must be returned unused and in the same condition you received them.
As personalised items are made to order, they are not eligible for a refund, and printables are also non-refundable. This does not affect your statutory rights if an item is faulty.
What do I do if there is a problem with my order?
Our goal is for every customer to be 100% satisfied with their purchase. If there is any problem, please contact us directly and we will put it right.
Are your products safety tested and UK compliant?
All Hare & Tortoise Learning resources are thoughtfully designed by an experienced educator and mum to support early literacy and numeracy development.
Our books, flashcards and learning mats are classified as educational materials rather than toys. We comply with the UK General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) and maintain internal safety documentation for all products. We carry out product risk assessments and ensure that:
- Materials and inks are suitable for their intended use
- Finishes are smooth, child-friendly and safe for handling
- Products are designed for supervised educational use
- Supplier and traceability records are maintained
