My First Maths Book (Stage 1)

This book is part of our Stage 1 range, designed to support the skills and learning objectives typically introduced for children aged 3–4 years.

At Hare & Tortoise Learning, we follow a “stage not age” approach because every child learns differently and develops at their own pace. Some children may be ready earlier, while others benefit from taking a little more time.

Children will learn to recognise and represent numbers 1–10 through both pictorial and numeral forms, helping them build strong early number sense and counting confidence.

They will also explore simple 2D shapes, including circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, hearts, and stars, developing early shape recognition and mathematical vocabulary through playful activities.
