My Next Maths Book (Stage 2)

This book is part of our Stage 2 range, designed to support the skills and learning objectives typically introduced in Reception in UK primary schools.

At Hare & Tortoise Learning, we follow a “stage not age” approach because every child learns differently and develops at their own pace. Some children may be ready earlier, while others benefit from taking a little more time.

Children will explore numbers in greater depth by learning how numbers are made up, representing numbers in different ways, and developing confidence with concepts such as one more and one less. Through engaging activities and visual representations, children strengthen their number sense and begin making important mathematical connections.

The book also expands children’s understanding of 2D shapes. Alongside familiar shapes such as circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, children are introduced to pentagons and hexagons while developing their ability to recognise, compare, and describe shapes in different contexts.
